 Assessment: Defining Abilities

Our experienced pediatric occupational therapists will carefully observe and consider the unique strengths and needs of your child. Working individually with your child, our therapists determine underlying reasons for dysfunctions, such as neuromuscular, perceptual or sensory processing deficits. They then develop a treatment plan using age-appropriate activities.

Furthermore, therapists will analyze your child’s environment to decide the best ways to utilize his or her strengths. They determine whether modification, assistive technology or adaptive equipment could increase the child’s interaction with others, maximize productivity and improve independence. Our therapists play a key role in educating you about your child’s development, and how to carry over activities into your home.
