OCCUPATIONAL AND PHYSICAL THERAPY

AOT, Inc.

Melody Ovitsky, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy. Her first position with AOT was as an occupational therapist in its acute care division. In the following years, she specialized in schools, preschools, and early intervention services. Today Ms. Ovitsky oversees and supervises pediatric services, reporting directly to the vice president, M. Marlene Seeger.

Ms. Ovitsky is one of AOT's most respected professionals. Her keen clinical skills and insight have earned her a reputation as a knowledgeable mentor among staff members. Her confident personality, positive attitude, and interpersonal skills make her an adept negotiator who responds assertively to issues and concerns that arise in the course of fulfilling her responsibilities as a supervisor. She has been recognized by a tri-county agency as an expert in early intervention feeding practices. As such she was chosen to develop feeding protocols.

Over the years, Ms. Ovitsky has honed her expertise in pediatric occupational therapy specialties via continuing education certification programs, seminars, and research. In 1996, she achieved certification in Neuro Developmental Treatment (NDT), which is a hands on, therapeutic approach used in working with children and adults who have central nervous system deficits. In 2007 she was certified in therapeutic listening. Other specialty areas that Ms. Ovitsky has pursued are the treatment of feeding disorders and sensory processing disorders.
