Cynthia Thomas was an original founder of AOT, Inc. in 1980. Today, as sole owner, chief executive officer and president, she decides corporate policy, oversees operations and manages the financial, human resources, and corporate strategic planning processes. She is also AOT’s Corporate Privacy Officer and Corporate Compliance Officer.

A 1974 psychology graduate of Thiel College, Ms. Thomas continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania where she was awarded a post-graduate certificate of proficiency in occupational therapy in 1975. She earned a Master of Public Health degree in 1982 upon her completion of the health administration program at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to being a licensed and certified occupational therapist, she is also a licensed nursing home administrator.

Prior to the founding of AOT, Inc., Ms. Thomas worked at Canonsburg General Hospital, where she advanced from administrative resident to vice president. Ms. Thomas also created the occupational therapy department at Central Medical Center and Hospital, which she then directed for five years. In addition, she served as a consultant to various skilled nursing and developmental disability facilities.
